The 12" X 12" DRYWALL INLAY ACCESS PANEL - ROUND or also known as Round Access Door, will blend seamlessly into the wall or ceiling surroundings once installed in the wall and easy to install for the ceiling and wall or any other purposes it may serve.
Solid Aluminum Frame
This round access panel has a solid aluminum frame with a drywall inlay which virtually disappears once installed in the ceilings or walls. It has concealed mechanical touch-latches for opening. This round door is available with either 1/2" or 5/8" drywall. Having a small reveal of 1/16 or 1.59mm is visible between the door hatch and outer frame.
Removable Door
It has a removable door design that provides convenient, easy access and is very functional yet offers an aesthetically pleasing finish solution.
Variety of Lock Options
This access panel has a variety of options in locks. You can select from Screwdriver-operated four-square cam latch, Mortise Cylinder Lock Preparation, Screwdriver-operated cam latch, Round Cylinder Lock with Key, Hex Head Cam Latch, and Pinned Hex Head Cam Latch. Here are the steps on how to install your DRYWALL INLAY ACCESS PANEL - ROUND or Round Access Door:
- Get the exact size of your door.
- By using your pencil, mark the exact perfect area on the ceiling or in the wall. Please note; accurate diameter measure measurement marking is required before cutting.
- Make sure that the circle point has no studs behind the ceiling or wall.
- Start the cutting by using a saw.
- After you make a hole, sand smoothly to clean.
- Separate the cover from the access panel assembly.
- Cut two straight notches 2inch deep on the opposite point on the circle and make sure that the outside frame diameter can pass through the straight cut edges.
- Position the frame and pull it against the ceiling or wall and ensure that it fits snugly.
- Use self-tapping every 4 inches to mount the frame.
- Remove any frayed edges around the round door perimeter.
- Prepare a drywall compound and apply directly to the edges around its perimeter, including the separate round door cover. When dried, sand to smooth until you reach the desired finish.
- Clean any dust from the access panel frame and cover.
- Place the cover into the frame and attach the safety cable to the round door cover.
