Benefits of Installing it Yourself
You might be thinking that installing an access panel cannot be that easy, but the creation of EZMAG™ was for this very purpose. Having an access panel in commercial establishments is often required by code as it introduces a lot of benefits to the building. Aside from security and concealment, access doors have become storage spacesand convenient entrances for maintenance personnel. Having one will improve the overall maintenance of your building's essential components.
EZMAG™ is made for easy installation by people with no previous experience. When you install an access door by yourself, you will enjoy these benefits:
- Save Money
- Save Time
- Easy to Adjust
- Move it with Ease
You can use the EZMAG™ for various purposes, including:
- Concealment: The access door is perfect for concealing parts and components of a building that may be unsightly or create a hazard if left out in the open. Safely conceal your plumbing, wiring, HVAC system, and more!
- Security and Convenience: An access door also acts as additional security. Essential components of the building should not be accessible to the public. An access door can prevent unauthorized access while allowing maintenance personnel to do their job conveniently.
- Protection: An access door, with its features, can also act as additional protection to your building's electrical and plumbing systems. It helps create a barrier from elements that can damage these internal components.
Easy 4-Step Installation Process
Before you start, here are just a few things to keep in mind before you whiz through the process:
- If you place the access panel too close to electronics, you might notice some interference. It is because of the magnet inside the polymer corners.
- Before painting over the panel or placing wallpaper, you should smoothen the surface and give it a quick clean for better results.
- You can open the panel by inserting a flat screwdriver or using your nails into a corner with a triangle.
Step #1: Trace and Cut the Opening
Depending on the dimensions of the access panel and whether an opening exists, choose from the following options:
For existing openings: Create a cut-out of the size of the access door and place it on the existing opening. You can adjust the dimensions to fit or fill it in.
For new openings: Lay the cut-out on the wall or ceiling properly (to ensure straightness) before tracing and cutting open.
For non-standard openings: You will have to adjust the frame that is already in place. You can do this by unhooking the tabs and pressing inward. Move the metallic piece to the other side before placing the tab in one of the holes and adjust accordingly. Note that the opening and the adjacent wall must be at least 2 inches away.
Step #2: Insert the Frame and Secure the Tabs
Next, insert the frame of your access panel and then secure the tabs on all sides.
For solid structures: Screw in the tabs.
For obstacles: Fold the tabs.
Step #3: Slide in the Door Glides
The security cables go into the door glides of your access door. You must ensure that the notches you can find in the polymer corners align with the door glides. You can now close the panel after sliding in the door glides.
Step #4: Go Ahead and Paint It!
You can now paint on metal panels! The EZMAG™ comes with a white powder primer that you can paint over so the access door can blend into your wall and décor.
You will have the EZMAG™ up in place in no time!
